Travel by Air

Aberdeen's international airport is located at Dyce, about 7 miles north west of the city centre. Direct links are available from the four main London airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stanstead and Luton) as well as from Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol and Norwich. Flights from London take around 90 minutes. Airlines using Aberdeen airport include British Airways, BMI, EasyJet, RyanAir, Eastern Airways and Air France/KLM.

Fares vary considerably depending on when you travel and how far in advance you book. The conference committee recommend that you book air flights as early as possible to obtain the cheapest fares. Airport buses provide a link to the centre of the city. A taxi from the airport will take you to the city centre for around £10-£15.

UK and European deals with bmi  

 

Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) has negotiated a discounted airfare deal with bmi whereby delegates flying to a conference at the AECC in Aberdeen can benefit from special discounted airfares:

Available discounts:

  • Heathrow to Aberdeen - 25% off premium economy, 15% off economy.
  • Manchester to Aberdeen - 15% off business and full economy, 10% off mid economy and 5% off low economy.
  • All European routes into Heathrow - 25% off premium economy, 15% off economy. Also 25% off business class from Brussels.
  • All long haul routes into Manchester and Heathrow - 25% off Business class, 15% off premium economy and 5% off economy.

Travel by Rail

Rail services connect Aberdeen from both the north and south. There are regular direct trains from London and services from Edinburgh and Glasgow link with other mainline routes.

Fares will vary depending on when you travel and how far in advance you book. A variety of discount fares are available such as "Supersaver", "APEX" and "Saver" returns. Purchase of multiple single journeys may prove a cheaper alternative to a return ticket. Travel time between London and Aberdeen is around 7hrs 30 minutes. Travelling from Edinburgh to Aberdeen takes around 2hrs 30minutes. The Channel Tunnel connects the UK with Europe.

The railway station is located in Guild Street, next to the coach and bus station. This is close to the centre of Aberdeen but you will need a taxi or bus to get to the AECC. How to find us
Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre enjoys excellent road, rail and air transport links. The Centre is positioned immediately adjacent to the A90 trunk road and Aberdeen International Airport is only a fifteen-minute drive away (during off-peak times). Flight connections are available to all four London airports, most other UK airports and Northern Europe (e.g. Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen). Aberdeen city centre is within easy reach of AECC and an on-site park and ride service offers regular transport to and from the city centre every fifteen minutes during peak times. Once at the Centre, there is ample parking for you, your colleagues and your clients.

Official Visa letters

Visa letters will only be provided once a completed and fully paid registration is received for each person requiring a letter.  This will be sent to the registrant and it is their responsibility to apply for their own Visa and provide the letter and any other supporting documents required to the British High Commission in their country. The supply of a visa letter to an individual DOES NOT imply any financial support of any kind to that individual.
